Emergency Stop Buttons on a Conveyor
Challenge
As products move down the conveyor, Emergency Stop (E-Stop) buttons are linked 8 to 10 feet apart to ensure all areas of the conveyor are covered in case of an emergency. In an emergency, operators press the red button of the E-Stop to immediately shut down the machine. It can be time-consuming to determine exactly what E-stop button is pressed, and typically an emergency stop condition requires a reset of all the E-Stop buttons.
Solution
Banner’s 30 mm mount E-Stop buttons work well in this type of application because they have an illuminated base that turns from yellow to flashing red when actuated. The red flashing illumination of the E-stop button visibly alerts operators which button was pressed so they can quickly and easily fix the problem to reduce down time and only reset the button that was activated.
